- Diagnostic Steps; Step 1. Started the vehicle and verified the customers complaint. Step 2. Scanned vehicle for diagnostic trouble codes. Found powertrain control module and hybrid control module code U011087 (Lost communication with drive motor control module A missing message). Step 3. Checked connection at the inverter assembly. Connection appears normal. Step 4. Tested powers and grounds circuits at the inverter connector. Powers and grounds tested good. Step 5. Checked communication circuits between the inverter and the hybrid control module. Circuits tested good indicating an internal fault in the inverter assembly. Correction – Recommend replacement of the inverter assembly and retest.
