About Us
The California Smog Auto Institute (CSAI) opened its doors in 2004 as an automotive technician and smog certification school for the California Bureau of Automotive Repair (BAR). We outfitted our facility with state-of-the-art equipment to train independent and dealer technicians. In 2007, we opened our doors to the public, offering quality auto repair and maintenance services utilizing the same high-tech equipment, diagnostic scanners, and alignment equipment used to train OEM technicians. Today, our location at 3001 Chicago Ave Riverside, CA 92507 is one of the premier auto repair shops in Riverside, CA. Our mission remains the same – to provide the most comprehensive, quality-defined automotive service and maintenance at all times. Our responsibility, not yours, is to ensure your vehicle will always be safe and well maintained. If we fail to completely uphold our mission, we have failed as a reputable automotive service center.

CSAI Auto Service is the owner and operator of Sage Leadership Academy, a non-profit with the mission to eradicate the state of resignation and despair in our inner-city youth, reentry, and the less fortunate by exploiting life’s success principles, leadership skills, and question thinking techniques. Sage Leadership Academy is 100% funded by CSAI Auto Service and California Smog & Automotive Institute. We believe it’s important to give back to the Riverside community, whether it’s through community efforts such as the Safe Leadership Academy, higher education as a California BAR Certified Training Facility, or helping motorists stay safe on the road with auto services they can trust. We’re also a Riverside Police Department Board Member, Riverside Chamber of Commerce Board Member, ASCCA Member, and ASCCA State Board Member. We love our community and are here to serve.
How We Differ from The Competition
As a California Bureau of Automotive Repair Certified Training Facility, we must practice what we teach and are committed to upholding the standard set forth by the state. The CSAI Auto Service facility is considered a research and development facility. What does that mean for you? When we diagnose a vehicle, we diagnose it to teach our diagnostic process, which results in a thorough diagnosis and auto repairs done right the first time. It also means transparency for you, the customer, and answering all your questions before repairs begin. We employ ASE-Master technicians and are an AAA Preferred Service Provider, Repair Pal, California STAR Smog Inspection Center, Training Facility, and an official Brake and Lamp Inspection Center and Training Facility. Our team recognizes that “We are a people of value, that value people, and add value to people.” Our personalized approach to business means our customers always come first. We’ll give your vehicle the attention it deserves in the shop while giving you the attention you deserve in the waiting area.
