- Diagnostic Steps; Step 1. Started vehicle, check engine light is on. Performed code scan and found P00B7 engine coolant flow insufficient. Step 2. Inspected under hood for coolant leaks and found coolant outlet housing cracked allowing coolant to escape and engine to overheat. Air conditioning turned off as a fail safe mode. Step 3. Checked for hydrocarbons in cooling system due to damaged head gasket and found no hydrocarbons in cooling system indicating engine is ok. Correction – Recommend replacing coolant outlet housing.
- Performed a visual Inspection and prepared an estimate for parts and labor.
- Remove and replaced coolant outlet housing assembly, filled cooling system and checked for leaks, no other leak present at this time. Cleared faults, road tested vehicle, overheating no longer present and air conditioning operating normally.
